The Potential for Bronchoscopic Interventions in Chronic Bronchitis
Chronic bronchitis is a clinical diagnosis characterized by chronic cough and phlegm production. It is typically associated with cigarette smoking and puts individuals at risk for respiratory exacerbations, reduces health related quality of life, and mortality. Current treatment options are limited and are largely ineffective. This program will focus on the new bronchoscopic interventions that are under development for the treatment of chronic bronchitis.

Diaphragm Dysfunction
While respiratory muscle dysfunction is well-documented, it’s often an underdiagnosed cause of dyspnea, and requires a multidisciplinary approach. Sources range from focal diaphragm dysfunction to systemic neuromuscular disease, often with overlooked symptoms and delayed diagnosis. This CME activity is divided into three sections, with a focus on general approach and diagnostic modalities for patients with suspected respiratory muscle impairment, surgical interventions for unilateral diaphragm dysfunction, and evaluation and treatment of systemic neuromuscular diseases.
